A force to be reckoned with

Titian's painting The Venus of Urbino (Circ. 1538)

At about my age the Renaissance artist Titian, would occasionally ask his assistants to walk him on the streets of Venice so as to prove to his younger competitors that he was still alive and a force to be reckoned with.

A few weeks ago a local artists' association wrote to discreetly ask if I was still of this world.  Perhaps I ought to follow Titan's example and ask my wife to occasionally walk me out to prove that I am still alive and kicking. But rather than troubling Denise, to assure them that l remain a force to be reckoned with, I sent examples of my recent work.

I've heard nothing since.
